Run AI coding agents on your own computers, and steer them from your phone.
Dagger is a lightweight IDE built to be used from a phone or tablet. Dagger AI is the coding agent that goes with it. Your code stays on your machine.
Works in any browser, or install it to your home screen. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
How it works
Three pieces, and nothing to open up on your network. Your machine calls out, so it works from home, the office or a cafe without a VPN.
Your machine
The conductor, a small program you install, exposes the folders you choose and starts agents there.
The relay
Connects the two, so neither needs a public address. It cannot read what passes through.
Your phone
The app: files, editor, search, git and a real terminal. Adding a device needs a pairing key the relay never sees.
Dagger IDE
Designed to be used from a phone, not merely to survive on one. The agent does the typing on your machine; you read, answer and steer from wherever you are.
Keeps running
Close the tab, shut the lid, go to lunch. Your agent carries on, and it's right where you left it when you come back.
It pings you
When an agent needs an answer, you get a nudge. Open it and you land straight in that shell.
Stays private
Your code stays on your machine. Everything crossing the wire is sealed, and we can't read it.
No VPN
Your machine calls out to us, so nothing has to be opened up. Home, the office, a cafe, it all just works.
Real terminal
A terminal that feels local. Your typing shows up right away, and the output is text you can select and copy.
Share a folder
Hand a teammate one folder, not your whole machine. You choose read, write, or a terminal.
Per-project setup
Commit dockerfile.term, .env.term and .rc.term, and every terminal anyone opens there comes up ready to work.
A real IDE
Edit, search, read the git history, move files around. The everyday things, right where your agent is working.
Five minutes
One line to install, one command to enrol, and you're in. Works in a browser or as an app.
Also in the box
- Sign-in
- Passkeys, two-factor codes with recovery codes, email alerts for new devices and sessions, and an activity log.
- Files
- Upload and download with a queue, whole folders as a zip, and a viewer for images, SVG, PDF and Markdown.
- Editor
- Search across a project, a git panel with history and side-by-side diffs, and copying a selection with its file and line for an agent.
- Terminal
- Shells you can leave and come back to, per-folder containers, and push notifications when one rings.
- Teams
- Share specific folders with each member's read, write or terminal permission.
- Conductor
- One install serves many folders, sits in the system tray on Linux and macOS, and updates itself.
Dagger AI
A coding agent you talk to from a terminal or from the app. The model runs on our server. Every tool it uses, the shell, file reads and edits, tests and images, runs on your machine, in the folder you started from. Nothing touches your files without your approval unless you turn approval off, and even then a risky command asks.
Lone Wolf
One model does the work. You ask; it reads, edits, runs the tests and reports back.
Pit Boss
A strong model plans with you, then hands each task to a cheaper worker, reviews every result and sends work back when it falls short.
- In the IDE
- A chat on the Dagger AI page, and terminal help: one button that suggests a shell command for the folder, branch and output in front of you. Terminal help is included with a subscription.
- Skills
- Skills, agents and hooks in Claude Code's
SKILL.mdformat, read from.dagger/skillsand.claude/skills. - MCP servers
- Connect servers over HTTP from the app or a project's
.mcp.json, including ones that sign in with OAuth. - Projects
- Group folders across machines under one name, with their own instructions and servers.
- Research
- Web search, a map of a large codebase, and PDF or Word documents written for you.
- Safety net
- Checkpoints you can roll back to, memories per folder, and a running cost on screen.
- Models
- Open-weight families such as Kimi, GLM, Qwen and DeepSeek, with automatic failover and routers that pick the cheapest or fastest model for a task.
- Client
dagger-aifor Linux and macOS, with a scriptablerunmode.
What Dagger AI can read. IDE traffic is sealed end to end. A Dagger AI conversation is not: it reaches Dagger AI through the relay, and Dagger AI keeps it with the conversation until you delete your account. Anything the agent reads from your machine to answer you is part of that conversation.
Install
The app
Open dagger.cutthroatsoftware.com in any browser. On iOS, use Share and then Add to Home Screen. On Android, use Chrome's menu and then Install.
The conductor
Linux on amd64, arm64 or armv7, and macOS, signed and notarised. Windows through WSL 2.
$ curl -fsSL https://dagger.cutthroatsoftware.com/install.sh | sh
$ dagger enroll <token>
The app gives you the token after you accept the licence agreement.
The Dagger AI client
Linux and macOS, amd64 and arm64. On a machine with the conductor, dagger ai installs and starts it.
$ curl -fsSL https://dagger.cutthroatsoftware.com/ai/install.sh | sh
$ dagger-ai login

Paying for Dagger AI
A subscription gives you access. The agent's model use is paid from prepaid credits: one credit is one cent, packs hold 500, 2,000 or 10,000 credits at the same rate, and credits never expire. Each model's price is listed in the client, and a conversation's running cost is always on screen. Terminal help draws no credits. Dagger will not stop an agent mid-run over an expired card.
